Project Essentials

Jonathan Bowser Architect is a full-service professional architectural practice, providing expert architectural design, interior design, planning, permitting, and project management services.

Jonathan Bowser has been a registered architect in New York for 30 years, with extensive experience in residential and commercial renovations and new construction at all scales.

Building additions and facade restoration, apartment combinations, commercial showrooms, kitchens and  bathrooms, structural modifications, and integration of new mechanical and electrical systems are among our range of typical project types.  We enthusiatically welcome conceptual, speculative, and development consulting projects as well.

Design

Function, Form, and Fit

Foremost in our design process is to translate the Client's needs and desires into the best design possible for them; balancing aesthetics, function and cost within the parameters of site, budget and schedule.  We listen, understand and develop the functional priorities and aesthetic preferences of the Client while building a coherent architectural whole, taking advantage of opportunities for surprise and delight where possible.  We are adept at both contemporary and traditional modes of architectural design;  in each case we strive to create well-proportioned, cohesively-detailed, high-quality spaces which reflect the Client's style and sensibility, and which improve the User's daily experience and well-being.

Collaboration

Design Team Alchemy

In addition to working one-on-one with Clients, we also enjoy collaborating with leading Interior Designers to produce beautiful, well wrought, and functional  spaces.  We coordinate and inform the Designer's vision with the design, engineering, and logistical expertise required to successfully approve, permit, and complete high-end projects in New York City and similarly demanding locales. Collaborators include  NYC Designers Nitza Shawriyeh, John Hulka, Carmen Alonso, and Lucy Diamond among others, as well as Studio Urquiola of Milan, Hirsch MPG of Chicago, and AD100 Alum Laura Hunt of Dallas.
